For the launch of POW! BREAKS Vol. 1: The Lab, Minta Foundry wanted cover art that captured the same raw, explosive energy as the drum and percussion pack itself — a blend of vintage grit, comic book flair, and mad-scientist creativity.
I illustrated the album artwork featuring Al Hug and Dr. A.J. Hall as retro-styled musical scientists mid-experiment inside a laboratory/music studio. The composition drew inspiration from classic pulp covers and 1970s comic aesthetics, balancing humor, character, and controlled chaos. Minta Foundry later incorporated their signature label sticker design, creating a cohesive visual system for the brand’s releases.
The result was a bold, story-driven cover that visually amplifies the album’s identity — part homage, part reinvention — embodying the same balance of vintage soul and modern innovation that defines Minta Foundry’s sound.
